Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer (Gen 1 et 2)

Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer (Gen 1 and Gen 2) are AI smart glasses without display, designed for the consumer market (B2C) and commercially available since 2023 (Gen 1), followed by an updated second generation (Gen 2). They do not include an integrated AR display and are built around visual capture and voice assistance powered by Meta AI. The device integrates a camera, microphones, and open-ear speakers for photo capture, video recording, voice interaction, and hands-free calls.

Gen 2 introduces two main upgrades compared to Gen 1:

• Up to twice the battery life (up to approximately 8 hours depending on usage),
• Ultra HD 3K video recording (6.4 million pixels), improving over the previous generation’s resolution.

The glasses connect to a compatible smartphone for content management and advanced features. Software updates are delivered within the Meta AI ecosystem. The absence of a visual AR display remains the primary distinction from augmented reality glasses.
