Varjo XR-4 Series (Standard, Focal Edition, and Secure Edition) is a professional mixed reality (MR) headset lineup designed for B2B use and released in 2026. It features Mini-LED 4K displays per eye (3840 × 3744 pixels) delivering approximately 51 PPD, with a field of view of about 120° × 105° and refresh rates up to 90 Hz. The optical system uses aspheric lenses and a high-fidelity video passthrough based on 20 MP front sensors, enabling precise blending between real environments and virtual elements. Tracking relies on inside-out 6DoF combined with 200 Hz eye tracking, supporting advanced use cases such as foveated rendering, professional simulation, and detailed visual analysis. The headset operates with a high-performance host PC and supports OpenXR, Unity, and Unreal Engine for simulation and immersive training environments.

All three variants share the same hardware platform but target different use cases:

• XR-4 Standard : reference model for immersive simulation and training, offering high-fidelity passthrough and optimized visual performance for professional environments.
• XR-4 Focal Edition : optimized for applications requiring maximum visual precision in the focal area, with gaze-driven autofocus passthrough improving readability of instruments and critical interfaces.
• XR-4 Secure Edition : designed for sensitive environments, featuring full offline mode, TAA compliance, and an optional Non-RF configuration for classified installations or critical infrastructure.

Compared to the XR-4 series released in 2023, the 2026 generation improves video passthrough quality, MR blending fidelity, and deployment capabilities for secure professional environments.
